Kanchanaburi Thailand
Kanchanaburi province boasts some of the finest natural scenery
in the whole of Thailand, and yet is only 129 kilometres west of
Bangkok. Topographically the province is defined by forested and
wooded valleys of the Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai, twin rivers that meet
at Kanchanaburi town to form the Mae-Klong river. Kanchanaburi town
is the site of the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai built by
Allied prisoners during World War II. The bridge still remains.
